A peek at poetry

girl, brave, bravery
Here for you

I'm here for you
Use me
Have me do what pleases you
Your breath is my breath
You carried me through death
You've kept me here
Through grief and fear
You held my hand
And now I stand
So, use me
Use me
I'm here for you

whole

My heart stays full when I think of you
It warms with a sweet heat
You are my dream come true
Your mind makes me want to learn
Your drive makes me want to earn
Your peace and joy are the goals of my soul
You, child, make my presence whole

man, bridge, lonely
Before Me

So many years before me
You walked these roads and passed these trees
So many days before me
You rose and worked and reached for your dreams
Hardships and setbacks forced you around
Pain and doubt buckled you down
Cloudy was your view
Crippled were your steps
Yet you hauled yourself up and accomplished success
Periods have gone
Your spirits have risen
But I hear your voices
And I know to listen

cabin, winter, night
inside

On the days you do not speak
During the times you do not laugh
I do not skip a beat
I continue on my path
My joy is not tied to yours
My joy resides inside
An attempt to ice me out,
is simply what you tried
Your anger is about you
The things you wish you had
Jealousy that skews your view
Emptiness that makes you mad
My smile may bother your senses
But it's something I will not hide
My joy is not tied to yours
My joy resides inside
